Hobson's Choice (1954) another masterpiece starring Charles Laughton.
The Artist was very good. But a black and white film about Van Gogh, say, would be disappointing. And I thought the way They Shall Not Grow Old, about World War 1, was brilliant when grainy old b/w footage suddenly exploded into colour and full screen; it really brought the men to life again.

I liked Laurel and Hardy, and Harold Lloyd, as a child. If that helps?
But what about the Alistair Sim films? Scrooge and the St Trinians series.
Also, the Pink panther films. Where they black and white? Thanks jno... watching that now x
Sorry... run out of patience with it already.
We like Talking Pictures on Freeview 81. Some great classic films and old TV shows like Van Der Valk, Callan etc
The Wizard of Oz was a masterpiece. B&W to colour then back again.

I watched 12 Angry Men a few years ago as someone recommended it and it was brilliant.
