if anyone hasn't watched this it's on BBC i player, series one and two, not sure about series three, its a cracking Scandinavian crime thriller on the same lines as other later Scandi dramas
i highly recommend it, having watched almost all of series one in one day i can safely say its watchable, even compelling

Question Author
i am currently on series 2, will watch the rest later on, the two leads are brilliant.
We watched that, It was excellent.
Question Author
yes it is, i didn't see it first time round, but am enjoying it - it's quite grisly in parts, but that's part of the whole picture.
Question Author
it originally came out according to the blurb in 2012, so good that it's being shown again
Excellent series emmie. I've seen them all. Now watching them for a second time.
morning Minty. hope you are feeling better with each day.
ooops wrong thread.
Question Author
no worries LJ, i wonder why i didn't see it first time round..
glad that it's on i player now i can watch to my hearts content
another good one, I thought, was Boden.
Question Author
missed that too, was it on BBC?
I really enjoyed The Tunnel, which is the UK/French version, so when I saw The Bridge was on, I recorded it.
I didn’t even get through the first episode, even though I know the story was exactly the same.
For some reason, it bored me.
If it is as good as you say, it makes me wonder why the creators opt to give it a title so uninteresting that it's guaranteed folk will just skim over as they check the TV listings for the evening. Wouldn't be the first time a uninspired title hid something decent either, seems fairly common. For example fbh40 is praising Gone Fishing elsewhere here.
Oh I loved this, Martin and Saga were one of my favourite cop pairings.
I've seen all of The Bridge, The Tunnel and the US/Mexican version (can't remember the title) and enjoyed them all.
The Bridge is probably the best series I ever seen. The other offerings of the same story were punching well above their weight IMHO. You can't beat a bit of Nordic Noir.
I'm just about to start Young Wallander, on Netflix. I'm a bit disappointed that it's in English, and I think it'll lose something because of that. But, we'll see...
imho the Wallander books are better than any of the offerings on telly.
I persevered to episode 3 but like bigbad, it bored me, I don’t rate it at all. Good job we’re all different.
I will second that. It's a tremendous series. We watched it some years ago when it was first on .... and it's every bit as good now as it was then. Interestingly, the only thing we remember about the first series was the bit at the beginning (and Mr. Chox remembers the very last scene) - just could not remember a thing about it. And now that we've started on the second series, we don't remember anything about it. So it's like watching a brand new series - all the better really. Highly recommended watching! and last October we visited Malmo and Copenhagen, so it's good to re-connect with the bridge and we've also visited the Turning Torso, which is shown in some of the episodes. Unfortunately, we didn't have an opportunity to drive over the bridge, we had to be content with a few train rides and the tracks run underneath the highway .... but it's spectacular!
Loved it , binge watched it .
It is nicely done but it bored me to tears.
