why in Emmerdale is there never any mention of the novel 'field of tares' which was written by Jack Sugden and made into a movie?

because the man who calls himself Jack Sugden is so clearly an imposter who bears no resemblance to the original (or maybe the script writers are to young to remember the original story line).
