I think it's pants myself. Perhaps Channel 4 saw a preview before they decided not to buy it. I am watching it from loyalty, and if it doesn't pick up soon I shall be dumping it.
Wouldn't miss it. I think it is brilliant!
Question Author
Do you think it is up to the standard of the first 2 series? Maybe I am expecting too much.
Oh I think so..........esp with Julia and Co setting up the Spa. Last nite's episode was a hoot! Personally I think they should get rid of Sean, he is so full of angst! A bit of a killjoy actually!
Not sure what's been shown on Sky, but I'm up to date with the US showings, and still loving it. The Alzheimers episode was particularly moving, and current developements with Matt suggest an interesting storyline in the works. (Though given his luck with women I think he should consider becoming celibate!)
P.S. C4 didn't buy the show because they had poor viewing figures for season 2.

We are up to episode 7, the one with Joan Rivers and the face cream. I thought that epidode was particularly poor - I already don't like the spa story line, they managed to get the whole thing set up in a week or so, with $40,000 and no business experience. Now I KNOW it's not real, but come on. It was like a sit-com last night - not the subtle and ironic humour of the first 2 series. And the whole charm of the series is the dynamic between Sean and Christian - separating them is a big mistake for me. I hope it picks up, because it was the best thing on tv in previous series. .
Question Author
I'm not surprised they had poor figures for series 2, they put it on at 11pm on a Wednesday.

The timeline of the show has always been a bit dubious - people seem to recover from major surgeries amazingly quickly! That spa did get sorted out at lightspeed, though. I guess Gina's unique motivational technique was effective! Personally, I thought the Joan Rivers episode was hilarious; those s*m*n jokes just kept coming *groan* - probably the most quotes/episode that I've ever submitted to TV.com.

Slight spoiler for future eps that may give you some hope (highlight to read):

As of last Tuesday, Sean has returned to McNamara-Troy and the guys have a long conversation about their lives and loves whilst trying out wedding cake, leading to the following:

Wedding Planner (overhearing Sean and Christian's conversation): I'm sorry, I just have to say something: I've been doing this for a lot of years, and you two are the most elegant, sharing couple I've ever met.

I've already put that quote up at TV.com!

I LOVE it Kags!

Unfortunately I was on holiday last week so I didn't see the outcome of the carvers attack on the police woman / detective. Is this why Sean is no longer part of the business?

I have a theory if anyone is interested, I think that the new surgeon that Sean brought into the practice aat the beginning of the season is the carver. I swing between thinking this and then thinking the producers WANT us to think that and is using him to detrect us from thinking about who the real carver is.

Another thing, Channel 4 only have themselves to blame about the poor ratings. It didn't bother me one jot as I watch it on Sky but my friends tried to follow it but C4 put it on after Big Brother junk, which was invariably 11.00 p.m. - way to late for anyone to be able to get up in the morning for work!

Question Author
thanks LeMarchand - that has inspired me to keep watching! And {Dakota}, I have the same theory as you. Something dodgy about his eyes.
I think its great however a lot darker than previous series' sometimes disturbing, but of course always a brilliant series
my g/f loves it... bit strange these days, serial killer very weird but agree with lemarchand about altzheimers episode, almost had me in tears!!! very sad!
