Just received a Thank You card from our First Minister Nicola Sturgeon. Unexpected but very welcome nevertheless. Love her or hate her, she is tireless and is still giving daily bulletins to keep us up to date. Thank you too Nicola.

A Daily Bulletin = An unchallenged Party Political Broadcast
Thank-you for what?
Unlike Boris NS continues to keep Scottish people informed by having a daily briefing and open to questions. Like it or not, support her party or not, I don’t think she has missed one briefing. She does not send her ministers out in her place, indeed she includes them .
Question Author
Canary, have you ever listened to one of her daily bulletins? Far from being an unchallenged Party Political Broadcast, she is challenged every day. She doesn't pretend to have all the answers but the latest figures show she is doing a great job for Scotland.
Does she have wings and a halo??
Does she get questions about BLM and Brexit and things like that though? There were quite a few questions at the English briefings that were not directly covid related and when they were on Covid the same question was often asked and answered numerous times and then asked again (eg a whole series of questions about reviewing the 2m rule a few weeks ago)
The children of Scotland have said thank you to her so maybe she felt the need to do something in return

Ff, why are you bringing the English briefings into this post? Start your own post about Boris and the briefings, when was the last briefing ?
Question Author
No wings and a halo daisypotter, Nicola has her feet firmly on the ground and tells it how it is.
Why are you thanking her here? Is she a member and likely to read it?
anneasquith you can't be serious. You asked me why I'm bringing English briefings into this. Well I was responding to your post at 13:55 which referred to Boris's briefings!
I was generalising Maggie, I've nothing against Nicola, in fact I admire her.
Oh here we go, Naomi has arrived. I don’t have the time or inclination to spend 8 hours listening to Naomi. You are quite correct ff.
Nice post to receive.
in all honesty I think the regions (not just Scotland) have had it easy - they snuck in their announcements about lockdown when they knew BJ was going to, so they could be first, and now they can wait and see how lifting of restrictions go in England first before lifting theirs
Bednobs. Scotland is a country, not a region .
Question Author
Bednobs, we are NOT a region, we are a country and a proud one at that.
sorry, I meant regional assemblies!
or perhaps I didn't mean regional assemblies, local governments? What are they called?
anneasquith, there's no reason for you to listen to me. I wasn't talking to you.
