did anyone watch this when it was first shown. I gave it one and a half episodes before giving up. I couldn't follow the accents, even though i had the tv sound on up high.

Question Author
not to denigrate the Liverpool people or their accents, its just that the sound quality wasn't that good either.
I didn't see it.
Question Author
its a repeat, being shown on ITV hub..
its about a young boy who gets gunned down in Liverpool, a true story, he was only 11. So it caused a major police investigation.
I started watching it but I found it too emotional. :-(
Question Author
it was that, i found it quite emotional when they had the funeral, and when the parents and brother went to Everton football and all those people applauding....
it was so sad , there has been enough sadness these last weeks I can't understand why they repeated it now .
Question Author
something to show i guess, there is very little by way of new shows being put on.
Emmie why don’t you use subtitles?
It's not the accents, these days a lot of programs are just a mumble fest, I have to use subtitles on a lot of shows, especially the US ones.
Question Author
tyrion, because i shouldn't need them, this has been the only show where i couldn't understand what they were mumbling about... shame because i think this was a good factual drama.
If you couldn't hear or understand the dialogue you clearly did need the subtitles, emmie
Question Author
i switched them on once by accident, and couldn't find how to switch them off. The accents are quite heavy..
I put the subtitles on when I'm watching Taggart. The original chap, not the incomer
Question Author
yes indeed, perhaps i will have a look later on, or just watch the rest of it anyway.
We have sub titles on all the time now.
It’s not a question of you shouldn’t need them, if you do then you do, whether it be the accents or the mumbling dialogue.
Yes, I saw this programme when it first aired.
Question Author
was it good...
I wouldn’t say it was good, it was interesting and probably worth watching.
I watched it the first time around, so didn't watch the repeat. I thought the acting was superb and I had no problem at all with the accents. Yes, it was a sad story, but thanks to the doggedness of the police, justice was served.
In my very humble opinion, I thought it was one of the best factual dramas I've watched in quite some time. Sympathetically handled, well scripted, well acted, and, yes, very emotional at times. well worth the watch - even if you have to use the sub-titles.
And I would say it was good.
