Well, I managed to persuade a few adventurous people to sample some music from the Netherlands earlier this week, so now let's see if there are any takers for this fantastic track from the German group, FAUN.

Despite being in German, it's definitely got a Gaelic feel to it and, with over 57 million views on Youtube, someone must like it!

Thanks, Gness!
Very good, I enjoyed that. Also found their 'Robin Of Sherwood' outfits interesting.
Loved it! I was gigging and tapping away there Buen! :-)
Quality...
Doing a jig!.. :-))

Thanks, Tony & Patsy!

Robin of Sherwood? I was thinking more of Vikings - not to mention of very attractive women too - when I viewed it, Tony ;-)
I dunno, Chris. A very pretty Maid Marion I thought ;-)
Had to return for another look and listen. Wouldn't I have loved to have costumed that!

. . . and wouldn't we have loved to see you in one of those costumes ;-)
Not too far from what I was wearing in the 60s, Chris.....no wonder the church suggested I stay away.... :-)
Was that Theresa May I spotted running through the cornfield ?

Certainly very Viking IMHO, a nice song/video, thanks for that Chris.
Good stuff :)

In the era of 'Hair' and 'Oh! Calcutta!', I'm surprised that you were wearing anything, Gness ;-)

Thanks, Canary42!

Thanks, Dave. I'm pleased that you liked it.
If you like kraut rock give a band called "The Blue Angel Lounge "
a listen,Corona is a brilliant track worth listening to.
I've had a look at some of Faun's other stuff - very much to my taste

Whilst we're in Germany - I'll take the chance to repost my favourite bunch of East German Irish Folkies - rather less spectacular, but very accomplished :

Daughter's just found their tour dates for me. One only in UK but at Union Chapel. What a fantastic venue!
I have to wear something, Chris....Dave complains otherwise...but it has to be loose and floaty....he's been calling me hippy chick all day.

I've come across quite a bit of decent German rock, Fcc, but TBAL is rather too dischordant for my tastes.

I like Liedvogt, Dave. A German group, from close to the Czech border, playing Irish music. It's a small world these days!
To me, krautrock is bands from the 60s and 70s who were progressive rather than throwback like this. I mean bands like Neu, Can, Popul Vuh etc who used early synths and paved the way for bands like Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream, and later ambient stuff like Brian Eno.

But then again, R 'n' B to me means Dr Feelgood, not Beyonce, so what do I know!
