i agree, one of the better programmes on the BBC. I love the presenter, he is calm and precise.
A fascinating programme involving a lot of research and very well presented. I wonder how many "dead-ends" they go down before they find the "right" house - not too many/too few tenants over the years etc.
I missed the first series, will see if I can find it on catch up. I read a series of books by Norah Lofts about a house through different ages called The Town House, The House At Old Vine and House at Sunset - they span 6 centuries. I may pick them up again, something to read during lockdown.

This will be the third series. I thoroughly enjoy it because it is, to me, the best kind of history. It's about real people and their day to day lives.
Question Author
Yes...I've wondered the same bhg...so much research must go into it.
Didn't I read last year that this (third) series will be about Bristol?
"The programme-makers are very careful about not revealing where the house is - all we can say is that it is an 18th century house near the centre of Bristol that has a fascinating history."
