The Big Bang Theory. American, but once you get into it, quite funny.

Norsemen is not British, but it's very funny.
Fallett is a British/Scandinavian murder mystery comedy, which is also very funny. The I.T. Crowd is British and a thousand times funnier than Big Bang Theory. Archer is American and hilarious.

Denton, I think British comedy is often the best. I can understand the preference.

Thanks Pixie for your support!. I can't imagine anyone not being amused by John Cleese's sketches or The Two Ronnies but perhaps Denton hadn't seen them or had seen them and as Queen Victoria remarked "We are not amused".
It's years since I lived in the UK but I still remember those types of programs with a smile!

Friday Night Dinner is good and if you haven't seen The Inbetweeners, give that a go. Not sure if they're on Netflix though.

Eric and Aimee have both been attacked - that makes it more serious drama than comedy for me, even if some scenes are funny.

The Chair, we loved Norsemen, have you watched Lilyhammer? There are some of the same actors in it, we found it very funny.
Have just watched the first episode of Fallett on your recommendation, found it quite funny and will stick with it.
