Inevitable at some point but what pleasure those programmes brought.
Agreed, mamya - wonderful programmes and a valuable reminder that a diagnosis of Alzheimer's doesn't mean the instant end of a happy and fulfilled life.
I didn't watch many of the programmes but thoroughly enjoyed those I did see. My very best wishes to them both.

I came to the series late, thinking it wasn't my 'thing'. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and hope it continues to be shown in repeats.
Not sure about the replacements...it won't be the same.
I enjoy the series and will miss both of them.
A wonderful series starring excellent actors. Prunella being able to recite chunks of Shakespeare even with Alzheimers was so impressive and must give hope to fellow sufferers. May they continue to enjoy more happy years together.
She'll have to be careful quoting Shakespeare in future. Yes, I'll miss them
Mum knew them as they lived nearby. Apparently just as lovely off screen
I didn't think they would do any more, very sad.

I shall give the new presenters a chance though.
I've loved watching them, even watched some twice, very sad. I'll give the new ones a try. I like Giles a lot, so we'll see but they will be a hard act to follow.
Both Prunella and Timothy were magnificent in Great Canal Journeys. I wish them well for the future.
I'm glad you said that, Dave x
So sad, but we knew this day would come. This programme has brought a lot of pleasure to viewers and she will be missed.
