if you have smart tv and can do catch ups, All4 are re-running such shows as ER, St.Elsewhere and my favourite Hill Street Blues, not sure how long they will remain on it but those were wonderful in their day.

//To Serve Them All My Days//

I can see why you like this series ,Tilly ,being about teaching.
I preferred the other Delderfield classic which I also have on box set,' 'A Horseman Riding By'
Yes, Retro, I enjoyed that one as well. :-)
Loved Hill Street Blues! “Be careful out there!”

Used to be compulsory viewing on my shift.Everyone was discussing the previous night's episode. Highly amusing and sometimes tragic. Deja Vu. :-)

they did a run of the entire series of When the boat comes in a couple of years ago, with the lovely James Bolam, as to the others i have mentioned check out All4 if you have the right smart tv as they are all award winners in my eyes.
and yes Z Cars was innovative, of its time...
Never seen any if those... but just out if interest, do any of you remember the test card?
I mentioned it to a neighbour and was convinced the girl had dark hair and my neighbour said she was blonde?
She had dark shoulder length hair and a scary clown -well one did -I think there were more than one test card girl.
another innovative show - er, in a way - was "public eye", which showed the reality of the life of a private eye; no square-jawed hero he, Frank Marker, but a seedy low life detective skulking on street corners eating fish and chips....
Test Card F is the one many remember though there have been many.

Thanks apg x I remember a clown and a blackboard xx
Emmie, even if All4 stop showing Hill Street Blues, most, if not all of the episodes are available on Youtube.

Go to Youtube and search for "Hill Street Blues Episodes"
Cannot afford a smart TV.
