There were no 'comedy' contestants as in previous years (Anne Widdecome etc) and Anton has at last been given a partner who has the potential to be pretty good. Shame Anton just can't do Latin!

Felt sorry for James Cracknell, who is clearly still suffering from the terrible injury a few years back.

Not sure where the judges are going when they're scoring 7s and 8s in the first week. It would have been unpopular but maybe they should have pitched everyone lower. That way, the only way is up

I felt sorry for James Cracknell...he was so far out of his comfort zone.
I do like the new judge...she's opinionated, and lively. Yes...she is Oti's sister and has a lot of experience judging.

I thought it was a great show although the marking was erratic to say the least. The fact that there were a lot of 'unknowns' didn't matter a jot.

I was thinking that putting poor Anneka Rice in that shapeless boiler suit did her no favours. She's straight up and down...no curves. That outfit just accentuated that.

Some of the pro dancers are absurdly over excited, especially Kevin, Karen, and Jannette. So annoying. I’d replace those three in an instant. New judge Motsi got similarly OTT when judging her sister’s dance, but of course she’ll get away with it at the tick-box BBC
