Which pot of vanilla did they find him at the bottom of?

If he works really hard, by the end of his run filling in for Steve Wright, he will amass enough personality to challenge a paper clip for his job.

Don't know him, is he new?
>>> Don't know him, is he new?

OJ Borg has been hosting the midnight to 3am slot on Radio 2 for the past 5 years, so he's hardly new!

Although I miss the Dark Lord (Alex Lester) as an overnight presenter on the station, I don't mind listening to OJB.

Anyone's better than the dreaded Steve Wright!
Question Author
Alex Lester is now heard across BBC Radio in the Midlands in the graveyard slot.
I googled the name in the question, nothing came up.

Alex Lester

He lives not very far from me.

Buenchico - // Anyone's better than the dreaded Steve Wright! //

I'm not so sure. I quite like SW, apart from the apparent requirement to add a variant of 'Love the show ...' to any request for a shart aht.

My issue with OJ is exactly the same as with Scott Mills - the moment he has finished a sentence, I could not tell you what he just said if you gave me a thousand pounds!
I've never heard of the OJ bloke though.

Ooh, I might give that listen then (online). I tried his morning show for BBC Radio WM (I think it was) but he was too restricted by the need to include traffic reports, etc, and he couldn't just be his madcap self.

I wonder if he's moved house to that area or if he does his shows down the line from near to Hastings (where he used to live)?
O J Borg is his name.

I'm sure Mr Hughes wouldn't stoop to name changing, I'm sure there's a RULE about that so must be a typo, the g & e being (almost) next to each other.

He was born and raised in Walsall, Chris. Lives in Wednesbury ( a couple of miles South of Walsall ).

No there isn't, but as a courtesy, people are expected to refer to each other by their user-name, or an acceptable abbreviation, it saves tempers flaring!!
douglas, yes, if he's an ABer. I wonder which username he's hiding behind?

I'm sure I would!!!
Heard one the other day who I thought was quite good standing in for someone - something like Amal - quite pleasant and not loads of requests to know what people are eating which drives me to change the channel.
I would rather listen to OJ than Jo Whiley, Ferne bloody Cotton or Zoe Ball. Come to think of it, he's better than repetitive Steve Wright.

Zoe's OK on TV, but terrible on radio.
Think Amal is standing in for Zoe Ball
Lankeela:
Amol Rajan has sat in, at various times, for Simon Mayo, Jeremy Vine and Zoe Ball, as well as being a guest-presenter for The One Show on TV. He's a talented journalist (writing both as a restaurant critic and as a political commentator in many publications, as well as editing The Independent until its print edition folded) and he currently works as Media Editor for BBC News.

Quite a c.v. for a DJ!

I thought someone was tired of orange juice.
Think Radio 2 has lost its way. As a delivery driver I have the radio on for most of the day.
I used to be able to listen to radio 2 for most of my shift, but not any more.
Ken Bruce and Jeremy Vine get me through till 2:00 After that its now a mixture of Smooth and Magic
