I'm also watching it again, Smow. It's beyond horrible...
Question Author
I know, just absolutely shocking : (
I don't even know why I'm watching it again, to be honest...
Question Author
I’m trying to understand why I guess.......
I don’t think you can ever understand something like that.
I've read 2 differing items regarding ''why''
One is the first girl was an accident and he murdered second one to shut her up (Daily Star, I think)
Second one was that he'd had a blazing row with Maxine Carr and was so infuriated he vented his spleen by murdering Jessica and Holly (Reddit)

Whatever the truth is, hope he rots.
Question Author
I guess not. Still shocks me to my core.....
I concluded it was sex
not seen the programme
he phoned up the girl friend and complained he was gonna be fitted up like the last time ( hence he had done it before)
and she came and steam cleaned the whole house
and then served time ( two years I think ) for doing that
Question Author
I didn’t know that
There are those who will tell you that he should hang by his neck until he dies.

There are others who will tell you that capital punishment is unacceptable in a "civilised" [sic] society.

I'm a socialist (quelle surprise!) yet I say the maggot should be legally killed.

Evil to the core.
I've seen it before. Why watch it again?
I watched this quite a few years ago so my memory might not be so great on it, but Maxine seemed extremely dim. I can’t see how she got a job as a teaching assistant.

Clarion - because I missed some bits.
And yes Clover I Agree!
evil man kills two girls - I didnt see the need to watch a prog
the other one where I lasted about 4 mins was the one where they taunt the adults with learning difficulties

Sorry, what?
Question Author
God I didn’t realise he tried to set fire to them to remove DNA. Jesus.....
This documentary hasn't been aired before. How have any of you watched it prior to tonight?
It seemed pretty obvious to me at the time: he lured the girls into his house, that he made sexual advances of some sort and that the girls became scared, possibly hysterical. And that he realised that once the girls had told their parents then he would lose his job and face prosecution. (He had previous, didn't he?)

The "logicaL" way out of the dilemma for a sociopath, if that's the right word, was to kill both girls.
Funnily I only know about the Huntley documentary because of the plugs in the recordings of the Charlene Downes murder the last episode of which I've just watched. I can't remember a thing about that case.
