Just been discussing Insurance cover with colleagues

The question came up with respect to dropping someone off at work

//"Dropping someone else off at their place of work may also be classed as commuting by your insurer, providing this is on your normal commute.

"If you give someone a lift to their place of work which involves a diversion from your normal commute, please check with your insurance provider to clarify if they are happy this is considered to be commuting use //

My question is - if you take your wife to her place of work and then return home , before you set off to drive to your own work place - are you covered for taking your wife to her
workplace ?

Why wouldn't you be? Leaving aside your own commute you would be entitled to take your wife to work under SD&P. But as always it's your insurers who must answer this definitively.
For the mrs it comes under SD&P as the judge says. Though if it's regular for a non spuose or relative I've heard of some issues with car sharing or regularly dropping someone off. Not sure about that one.
