I was in the pub he visited when covering Burnley's 'Suicide Squad' for his documentary series on football hooliganism. Nothing at all untoward happened while Dyer was present. Yet, when i watched the programme a few months later, he is seen talking to camera outside the pub saying, "Things were getting a bit tasty in there so we thought it best to take our leave, sharpish." The man is definitely up his own rissole.
In an age where a large number of people attract attention for doing absolutely nothing whatever, Mr Dyer is less damned than most, because he is an actor, albeit one with the full range of A to B and back again.
But that does redeem him from the full scorn deserved to be heaped on the hundreds of others who can't even offer that note on their CV's.
