John Noakes and Shep - they were fun to watch.
Konnie Huq. Mmmmmm
John Noakes and Peter Purvis.
Noakes and shep.... what a pair..
Go John ( that nelsons column climb ).
What was sheps mum called?
Petra?
Petra! Correct.
I probably remember Christopher Trace as the most important presenter from my viewing days, simply because he was there when I was at primary school.

John Noakes, who was probably a better presenter, didn't join the programme until I'd started secondary school. (Admitting to watching Blue Peter, or any other children's TV programmes, simply wasn't acceptable at our grammar school, as we were expected to have got well beyond that stage by the grand old age of 11).
I thought that Petra was Patch's mum.
i always remember Blue Peter being middle class and ITV's Magpie a bit common! I also remember never having the sticky back plastic or any other crafty items needed to make the various 'makes'.
It could have been Petra/patch/shep. I'm sure they were all related though.

Oh how my mother would have agreed with you, AL!

She regarded almost anything on ITV as 'only fit for common people' and I was strongly discouraged from watching anything on it.
John Noakes by a country mile.
John Noakes for me, too.
// ITV's Magpie a bit common..//

yeh but - jenny hanley…….
oooooh yes, Jenny Hanley....
Petra wasn't the mum. She was a cross-bred and sheep and patch were border collies, after that there were some Labradors. Jason was the Siamese cat and Fred later Freda for reasons that were deemed unsuitable for children's tv was the tortoise
