Your Answer...They scored a record low of 5 in the final chase
I take it you knew the answer to all the questions!
Rubbish or what! Had it on while I was doing something else, it was dreadful. I was embarrassed for them
gollob.....spot on.....two short planks comes to mind.
To me celeb editions are easier... I was taken aback by them especially Arthur Smith.
Such an embarrassing final..didnt know who Ken Dodd was ....

Are all these posts of yours sour grapes for failing to get on Eggheads a few years back?
They didn't go on the Chase to show how bright they are.

At least they got £1000 for their charities
I would expected Arthur Smith to be more intelligent than he seems to have been, never heard of the other three.
If I was that thick I would be too embarrassed to go on the programme.

Baldric I have failed many auditions for different quiz shows although I have been on 28 , I still have never worked out how the researchers pick you. I did one interview and got 33 questions right out 100 and later had a phone call to say you are on. Then another interview with a partner got 39 out of 40 and never heard another thing. Then re-applied with another partner but did not do as well but they asked us on (Today's the Day) and then did another 5 game shows with them
Producers want a variety of people so that each show is entertaining not just for the questions but because of the people answering them -- or trying to.

Jade Jones is, I assume, a double Olympic Taekwondo champion so not sure that calling her a "so-called" celebrity is very fair. And, indeed, not knowing about her seems rather ironic given the general tone of this OP.
Alijaz is from Slovenia and a professional dancer on Strictly.
Yer, well that's no excuse...he should be a boffin like what we all is innit
was a wee bit cringy..I am/was related to P Young through marriage to now ex... wife Stacey died of brain tumour January gone.. very young..so sad...
This (now getting a little boring) programme is contrived.

Take this episode, the first contestant was asked which 'Chaser' he would prefer, and bang on the button, his preference turn up.

And giving the contestants a choice of either the 'A' questions or the 'B' questions, makes no difference at all they are given the questions that ITV wish them to be given.
I'm fairly sure that the set A/B choice is genuine. As to the choice of Chaser, there are so many episodes (and so few chasers) that such a "lucky pick" is bound to happen from time to time.

In other words: you old cynic, you, AOG.
I'm sure more and more of the people they get to go on these shows to try and raise money for charity will decline when they get fed up of being ridiculed.
are we talking about "intelligent" or about "knowing things"? They're not the same.
