I have seen a trailer for Lord Of The Rings a couple of times this evening. The incidental music in the background sounds familiar as a theme tune of old but for the life of me I cannot place it. Any ideas. Many thanks

Was it not just actual Lord of the Rings music?

No. I've never even see Lord Of The Rings. It was a theme tune to a 1980s or 1990s programme

Ah ok -- I missed the trailer myself so afraid I can't help further.

I asked around elsewhere on the internet and general consensus seems to be that the ITV trailer you mentioned had music that was originally written for the ad. So maybe it only sounds *like* some theme tune or other.

That's also the background in a trailer I saw. Whether it's what the OP meant I don't know -- has been used as background in lots of films and TV shows since 1997, though.
