Thinking of upgrading to TiVo box so I can get Netflix, Has anyone done this. I would like to hear some real experiences rather than follow links to sites where reviews can be put on by interested parties.

i have tivo v 6 and i have netflix whenever they offer me the free trials, its good, depending on which service get you can watch on more than one device. Watching through the tivo, its a dedicated channel, you log in (just the once) and away you go.
It's no different to accessing Netflix through my smart tv - you still have to pay the subscription.
if you're joining virgin or renewing you can get 6 months free - that was my joining deal - now i only get it if i get a freebie from netflix

Thanks, we spend a lot on box sets and film dvds so we thought we might save a bit. I think I will ring them and try a bit of negotiation
Negotiating with Virgin won't get you Netflix any cheaper, they are not the ones that charge you for it. You will need to sign up and pay for Netflix directly, even if you do use a TiVo box to view it.
the netflix channel is paid to netflix, it is a three tier pricing setup, 1; normal quality, 2; HD quality or 3; 4K quality, the prices rise 1 to 3. It is explained on signing up. you also need an internet connection. We have the HD at about £8 a month, my son benefits as he can sign in as one of my devices at his house on his tv. There is loads of content. Our V6 box runs it just fine, if you're on virgin already they are now doing free upgrades from old Tivo boxes to V6 boxes! and you can have netflix for a month free to see if you want it!
