Gave up after episode 1
Me neither, I had them all on the V-box but I've cleared it, I persevered with two episodes, that's my limit.
Spoiler alert for anyone let to watch episode six

Basically it’s a feud between Alex Godman’s family of ‘businessmen’/gangsters, exiled from Russia years ago and Vadim, the Moscow based gangster thick with the Kremlin and FSB.
In the first episode Alex’s uncle tried to assassinate Vadim, and was murdered in revenge. Ever since that Alex, who’s been trying to stay away from dodgy dealings, has been sucked into revenge for his uncle’s murder.
He’s allowed dodgy Israeli politician Semyon Kleiman, associate of his late uncle,to invest in his bank in return for Kleiman helping him destroy Vadim’s operations in India and the Czech Republic. By now Vadim has realised what’s been going on: last week he tried to frame Kleiman on a rape charge and this week he started a fully fledged operation to target Alex, his friends and family.
Alex has employed Kleiman’s driver Joseph to coordinate providing protection for them all. With limited success.
They don’t appear to be the most efficient crew ever.
Meanwhile Alex’s ex girlfriend has got pregnant by his dad and wants to keep the baby. Alex and his sister try to bribe her to go away somewhere. Not sure where that bit of the plot is going but presumably will be relevant later

Thanks ichkeria. It kind of makes sense now. Well done !
I'm finding it very slow going. Could easily have been done in 6 episodes.
It's brilliant. I'm thoroughly enjoying it.
I gave up after wasting 4 hours. James Norton is blank and wooden; not a single likeable character
dreadful, gave it 2 episodes and gave up.

I've noticed that the trailers have now dropped the copyright symbol.
I have to watch it again on catch up,I think I can understand it now.
Join the Club :D I find most plots hard to follow.......
Afraid I too gave up after two episodes. Just couldn't follow the plot. Loving Spiral though.
"I gave up after wasting 4 hours. James Norton is blank and wooden; not a single likeable character "

I think it is one of those series where you not expected to find any of the characters "likeable" as such. I don't care for any of the characters much although I do quite like the Czech henchman Benes.
The only truly "good" people are the female victims. In real life though there are no perfect characters. I like it for the authentic dialog and the locations:; it is a bit slow moving (that is one reason I can understand it!) but in a way that adds to the menace as well as filling the airtime.
and now that Alex's girlfriend has been shot by an assassin, and carted off to hospital, no one is safe. I am enjoying it, wish that i could watch the rest now.
maggiebee- regarding Spiral. What do you think of the prem baby that has suddenly morphed into a 4 month old!!! Really good though, isn't it. I felt sorry for Roban- he was in an impossible situation.
Sorry for hijacking your thread Samuraisan xx
"and now that Alex's girlfriend has been shot by an assassin..."

I wondered if "Sylvie" aimed low deliberately after Rebecca innocently told her she was pregnant
ichkeria...that deserves a best answer....what an analysis.
Fantastic series but i don't understand one bit, even after your clear precis. I am addicted to it.

James Norton? Can't stand him......why must he always have that "sickly" grin on his face......he smirked all the way through Granchester.......can't stand him....he as an effeminate look about him LOL.
I agree Sqad very wooden and yet he is being touted as the next James Bond!
I am so happy not to feel alone in trying to work out the plot, was feeling a bit like a thicko, maybe a light will come on I my brain and I will get the message.
ich
i think that was the case, she didn't aim for the head, but having said that Kleiman's bodyguard got in there quick before she could do more damage. I think that James Norton is doing ok, he seems mystified how it all got out of control.
