Possibly this should be posted under technology but it IS TV related. Just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem over the last couple of weeks. Whatever I record on an ITV channel, the end is missing (and I have three boxes all doing the same). The Chase has no end, nor Tipping Point nor Heartbeat. If the programme is important, I am resorting to recording the one after it so I get the end. Bring back video recorders that you can set manually a few minutes early and a few minutes late!!!!!!!

annoying isn't it? i had to resort watching the end of a programme on catchup recently
I have a Humax recorder built into my JVC tv and it's possible to record programmes manually.
On my Humax box, under "PVR settings" you can set the start and end "padding" times.
Surely all hard-drive recorders have some sort of "flexible timing" arrangement?..
I can alter start and stop times on my Panasonic recorder to suit the vagaries of the schedulers...
i dont have that problem on my humax (yet)
As bhg says, you can add 'padding time' which extends the programme either at the beginning or end.
: I have a Humax and have no problem recording anything - all recordings on the main channels start and end perfectly.

If you pad the length, I believe you lose the ability to series link programmes.

Have you tried resetting to factory defaults?

Not on mine, you don't. It might create an overlap between two consecutive programmes but mine has sufficient tuners to cope with that.
Must have a different model then.
We've had nothing but trouble with our Humax box! Wouldn't buy another one. Instructions and customer service are useless!
Don't know whether it's relevant or not, but it sometimes happens to me. Twin tuner Freesat Humax box here in France. You can only record on two channels, and also watch a recording, else you have to switch it off. What seems to happen to me is that i am recording so much, the program start and end times tend to overlap a tad so it's possible that there are three channels recording at once and one just gets cut. I therefore juggle with recordings using the +1hr channels.
I believe that Freeview boxes can now get up to four tuners(?) but not so on Freesat.
Unless you have more than two tuners, changing the start and end times mean diddly squat!
