I keep seeing Eurovision 2017 trailers on the beeb surely with our imminent departure from the EU this outdated program is no longer of relevance to us. Time to call it a day and we should call it a day?

Lordi

Satellite by Lena for Germany was a perky little number.

And I did like last year's a lot :-)
We were in it before we were in the EU and will be after we leave, it is not only EU countries anyway. Switzerland ,Turkey and Australia are in it!
China wanted to participate too, but weren't successful.
The UK competes in Eurovision because the BBC is a member of the European Broadcasting Union, which has nothing whatsoever to do with the European Union.

The EBU has 73 broadcasters as full members, spread over 56 countries. All 56 countries are entitled to compete in the Eurovision Song Content (as long as they contribute to Eurovision's other activities, such as pooling new-gathering resources):

Oh God !....its not that ruddy time of year again is it ?
Pearl and Teddy both still with us, living in a retirement home.

There'll be an Opera on somewhere Mikey.
Mamy....there may be a coat of Dulux somewhere that needs watching as well.
I didn't know anyone really did that ;-)
Mamy.....Anything is better than watching this load of outdated, low grade, boring trivia.

Boom bang a bang my ass !
come on mikey all stand in a row ........you gotta speed it up then you gotta slow it down ....come on sing up xx

"Boom bang a bang my ass !"

That a serious offer?
I don't bother watching the performances, but I enjoyed Terry Wogan's and now Graham Norton's commentary. I don't know why we bother entering anymore. We never get many votes now, and it's not exactly great for the unfortunate participant's career.
"Boom bang a bang my ass ! "

I'll pass on that mikey :-)
^ Chuckle.
It started in the fifties with the European broadcasting union and it was another little idea to stop Europe actually going to war every ten years or so same as the Football euro competition and so far it actually working
