Is what realistic, Dave?
Not boyfriend but husband.
Why not? She's a feisty, intelligent lady and has a great sense of humour.
Yeah, why not?
i don't really understand the question. Are you asking if it's realistic that disabled people are people with emotions and feelings and 'normal' relationships etc?
I would assume Dave means it would be unlikely because of her physical condition. The woman is supposed to have a brilliant mind and so has her husband, there can be attraction and love not based on the physical but on the mind.
Like Donny says, many many relationships start with the basis of admiration and mutual respect.
hmm so you're sort of saying "she may be a cripple, but it's ok for someone to love her because she's brilliant and intelligent" donny?
Bednobs , I have re-read my post and I cannot see how you leap to that assumption. In the program the characters are as I mentioned. I find your assumption almost offensive.
Goodness me, Bednobs.....what a horrid post. Your strange interpretation is not what Donny posted at all.
Gosh...I didn't read it like that.
glad to have only almost offended you donny, not actually offended you.
dave50 appears to have lit the blue touchpaper and retired

Liz Carr, who plays Clarisa, is married in real life. She's a great comedian and campaigner and I was pleased to see she can act, too. I really like her characted in Silent Witness and her relationship with Jack
Your behavior I find childish so shall we end this chat between us ?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ last post was for bednobs.
Ooooo.....I think we twigged that, Donny......☺
Reading between the lines of Donny's post I felt it implied that there may be no physical relationship just a cerebral one.

I can see where Bednobs is coming from.
Eccles, A civil answer civil answer from bednobs would have started with "Do you mean " and not leap to assumptions and the reading between lines. I think my original post was intended to and actually did convey my thought that physical differences should not make a difference to being attracted to one another or to love. I find it tedious when one has to check every possible nuance or interpretation that a sentence might contain, try hard enough and one can find something to complain about.
No.....if Dave is questioning the possibility of a relationship because of Clarisa's condition then Donny answered quite appropriately.

A brilliant and funny person with an engaging mind can be very attractive and that can lead to a sexual relationship for any of us.

Perhaps Dave will return and clarify.

To begin a post with...."so you're sort of saying".....is deliberately putting another slant on it.......for whatever reason.....beyond me though...
