I have just started free trial with Netflix and am disappointed with results when searching.for instance if I type in "The Lady In The Van" it returns "..films like/suggested by...", but the title appears below which suggests it is there? Unable to find,possibly searching in wrong category,disappointed.

That title doesn't seem to be available. I suspect that the 'title' you're seeing is nothing more than a copy of the search string you entered. (e.g. if you searched for "twiddly whotsit thingamujig" that would appear as the 'title' which you'd searched for).

It might be easier to check the availability of particular movies via this third party site:
