Spoilers if you haven't watched the last two episodes.

I really enjoyed this even though I sussed out who the probable killer was and it wasn't a big shock who and why.

Very good television!

What did you think?

Another decent series from our European cousins, Eve, and, like you, i also sussed out 'whodunnit'. I wonder if the French will make another series with the main man (Molina) starring. And, of course, his sidekick. Must be a bit of mileage in there somewhere.

I really hope that they do, apparently it broke some viewing records in France!

French drama wise, I wondered if they would bring back Witnesses, although that wasn't as good as The Disappearance, apparently it is being written for a Season 2.

Really hoping that The Returned comes back too though it went a bit weird (ok, weirder) in Season 2.
I have series 2 of the Returned on record and have only watched 2 episodes as yet. It was that long since series 1 that i am having difficulty remembering just who is who so i will very probably catch up on the last 2 episodes of series 1 (Firestick), then try gain with series 2.

Sounds like a plan, I've seen catch up articles online too given how long it was between the first and second series if they would help.

I was lucky in that I watched the first season back to back right before the second season so I didn't have the gap to contend with. Even so, I had to refresh a few bits and bobs.

Apparently they film it at dusk so that the lighting is more ominous.

I completely missed that Flo in The Disappearance played the female police officer, Laure, in The Returned! Hadn't even noticed until I read an article about it earlier. Not sure what that says about my observation skills!

Ooh, you little fibber, eve. I told you last week. ;)

Aye, I'd certainly watch another series with that detective. Her family were starting to get on my toot. (cept for the little girl)
??? don't know this one
Sat BBC4@ 9:00, minty. Finished now, though I'd imagine it's on i Player.

Oi haha, I got part of the twist right ;) ;)

Yes it's available on catch up, there are eight episodes and it's really good!
This was one of the best crime shows on TV for a little while. The acting was superb, especially the mum, you could really feel her grief.

I hope they do a second season with the two coppers.
I really enjoyed it and the subtitles didn't put me off at all, although the the French language is so charming! I, of course, as per, didn't have a clue who dun it.
