Have been reading all the old news items about this, the trial, etc and the drama is very true to the facts.

No spoilers .... please. I haven't watched it yet.

Oh sorry naomi, I'm hooked !
Naomi, just don't click on the link if you don't want to read spoilers.

viv, I wondered how he manhandled the dead man into the driver seat without getting cuts/abrasions/grazes on the body which a pathologist would detect. It was a very small space. I would have left him with the woman in the back and made it look like they were cuddling each other
Question Author
hc, I too wondered why he didn't put them together and really I was amazed at how smoothly it all seemed to go off. The Pastor definitely has his doubts and I agree with him, she wouldn't have left her children like that. I think it's extremely well done.
If I didn't know it were based on a true story, I'd think it far fetched. Let's see how it pans out next week.
Question Author
Yes, I agree about the far fetched bit, but it obviously happened that way, I assume ....
My wife can't believe how extremely unattractive Nesbitt is in this. I think she had a bit of a crush on him :D
I didn't enjoy last nights episode as much as the first one. ? Moving "" dead weight's "" the way he did, on his own. Difficult ?
Question Author
They've tried to make him look younger and it obviously hasn't quite come off! Is the man playing the Pastor the same man who played Jeffries, the landlord wrongly accused of killing that poor girl who lived in one of his flats (Jo)?
Question Author
I know aa, but it's a true story isnt it ?
I agree with your wife hc4361, I usually think James Nesbitt is rather nice, but I don't like him in this at all.
It is not actually based on a true story, but the book which was based on the true story. There will undoubtedly be some 'poetic licence' involved and the scriptwriter will have had to fill in the blanks.
Derek Henderson, who wrote the book, has said that it is a very true likeness
Viv - yes, the Pastor is the same man who played Jeffries. His name is Jason Watkins. I was going to say 'He was also in...' but the list would go on forever. He must be one of the most prolific actors in British tv and film, but rarely gets star billing. Quietly very successful, I'd say.

hc4361, I've avoided this thread, but I've caught up with the story now and I agree with you. I said when I was watching it that evidence of man-handling must be found on the bodies. I don't know the story but I'm at a loss to understand how any two people could even contemplate entering into such a scheme, but they do, and apparently these two did. I can't wait for the next episode. Great television.
Question Author
Thanks Nodger, I thought it was, he is a terrific actor and I was mesmerised by him as Jeffries.

Thanks all for your comments. Looking forward to the next episode !
It's brilliant, I am enthralled. But don't forget that man had taken a sleeping pills, so was not able to fight back 100percent.
Isn't he good at being evil and so cold about it too.
Question Author
I know net, but I didn't think one pill would knock him out that much, but it obviously must have. Very good acting all round.
