Quail eggs need far less time
Egg: Boiling water mixed with salt (egg won't crack).
Tea (Teabag Method): Teabag in the mug/cup, add the sugar, add boiling water and leave to mash for a good few minutes. Once mashed, remove the teabag and add milk. You don't get a proper cup of tea if you add milk first if mashing the teabag in said cup - I've seen people do that. Also if you end up making 20 cups of tea for 20 different people it's far easier to add the milk and sugar last; that way you have less chance of getting the 'order' wrong or if someone decides they don't want milk or would prefer their own cup/mug or specific receptacle.
Put teabag in cup....pour on boiling water ( definitely NOT water that boiled 2 mins ago ! ).....when tea has brewed, add milk and sugar to taste !

Simples.

Anybody that puts a teabag into a cup and then pours cold milk over it deserves shooting.

A few years ago in America, a friend of my friends asked me if I wanted cream or lemon with my tea.

" Cream ?...in tea ? " I spluttered, hardly believing what I had just heard !

Ruddy colonials.
One of my best friends in New Hampshire only drinks tea on a Sunday morning, and he puts Coffee Mate into his !
If you put the milk in first you can judge the correct amount then add teabag and then boiling water - jiggle tea bag with spoon until preferred colour achieved.

Yes Mikey, thank you, we had to wait until the 35th entry before your post spelt out the correct and simple way to make tea!
No, mrblear. You can't do that. You don't get any colour if the milk is already in.
A teabag, or tea leaves needs boiling water first, By dunking a teabag into cold milk, the brewing process is fatally flawed.
