Titles shrunk to show upcoming programmes.
Voice over end music with an accent from north of Watford telling us about the other programmes, do they think we cannot read ?
Sponsorship on Emmerdale, do I really want to know that some bird can't handle the motions she has just had. Personally I would not touch her motions either.
Or am I just getting old ?

No, it's not just you. All the things you mention drive us nuts too, why did they use families for Emmerdale, the scarecrows were so much nicer. Can I add the doom and gloom health awareness clips to the list please, I know people need to look after their health but I don't want to see the mutations caused by smoking, effects of a stroke, etc. at almost every ad break.
It's been happening for ages.
Yes it is annoying, but that said I rarely need to look at the things they are deliberately trying to distract me from.
horselady - // ... but I don't want to see the mutations caused by smoking, effects of a stroke, etc. at almost every ad break. //

Er, I think that's the general idea!!
Yes baza, I hate it when they shrink the titles at the end of a show as I may want to see who played a certain role if I recognise them from somewhere and just as I'm starting to look, they shrink to an impossible size - very annoying !!
Too many commercial channels fighting for the finite advertising revenue means that sponsorship and in programme promotions are inevitable.

They talk over the credits to stop you channel surfing, hoping you'll continue to watch. Too many channels is not the only competition these days - we have other things to keep us entertained in our homes.
