Tony, why doesn't he just join the torys
Question Author
I dunno, Psybbo. He always was a watered ( slightly ) tory anyway imo.
Question Author
down.

I thought he had.
Has he found the WoMD then?
Question Author
Errrrrrrm I think there still searching, Psybbo.
Tony Blair is branding someone else's leadership a '' tragedy''.
LMAO
a tragedy would be when a lot of people die, for instance in foolish and unwinnable wars. I don't think Corbyn has that against his name yet (indeed, he seems to have learnt something from it, which is more than Blair has done).
Article by Mikey Smith. Mmm.
'Watered down Tory'?
I thought Blair was more tory than Thatcher !
not really, Eddie, but she was Blair's political hero (just as she is ToraToraTora's - funny old world.) And he emulated her in staying a long time in office and winning elections, so I suppose he was an apt student. But he doesn't seem to grasp that because his name is mud, the party will be distancing itself from him and his wars for some time to come.
I don't think he'll lose any sleep over that.
And also distancing itself from his knack of winning elections i fear.
I have v little against Cirbyn but there's a nasty vindictive streak to many of his followers
it happens: when Blair was winning elections, a string of Tory no-hopers were losing them. Parties that lose power after a long time in office can take a lot more time to re-orient themselves.
and what did Corbo say ?

I now know what it is like being savaged by a war criminal ?
And this is the bloke who used to insist on all members being "on message" with him when he was boss. Hypocrite.
Blair is not Tory in my books, that's just a smear the left adopt to fend of the fact the last labour government wrecked the economy through overspend.

Tories do not overspend, they cut back the unaffordable excesses of labour. Generally that actually works out well as we get a period of social spend followed by ensuring the country can pay for it. Unfortunately Labour got in for too long under His Tonyness and the pattern was destroyed.

Like I say, he is not Tory.
In denial ?
the labour leadership election delivered the biggest mandate in the party's history, from the party as a whole, not just the encumbent MPs. given that Jeremy Corbyn made no secret of his views, QED it was a mandate to move the party considerably left of Mr Blair and the party that called itself "new labour". Mr Blair no longer represents the views of the Labour party and ought to wind his neck in while the labour party evolves into the entity chosen for it by its membership.
Tony Blair was never a Tory. He is and always has been self-serving. He taught me to vote Conservative.
