What is 'On Demand?' I saw that a film I would like to watch is on 'On Demand' do I need to be on Sky or Virgin to get this? I'm on Freeview.

depends what channel, some demand progs like ch 5 and 4 are available on your computer

I thought they were called catch up? I wondered if perhaps you have to pay to watch things on 'On Demand' but still don't know how to access it.
'On demand' includes 'catch up' services but isn't necessarily limited to them.

Some service providers might make online content available 'on demand' which hasn't been transmitted as live TV. For example, when BBC Three closes down as a conventional station, it will continue to provide new programming 'on demand' via the internet. Other broadcasters are also starting to move towards more 'internet only' programming as well.
