I've seen cures for balding in chemists, but can anything really cure me of my despair at not being able to escape Clare Balding in the Media? She is effin everywhere: tv, radio, newspapers, magazines.... What exactly is the fascination for her? She is capable and knowledgeable, but neither attractive-looking nor particularly endearing in personality. Are any of you balding fans and, if so, why?

Ditto Alice Beer, by the way. TV execs, get thee to Specsavers
Do you not own a remote?

If I find someone irritating I turn over/off.
She is actually John Barrowman.

He used to be on the screen all the time, and the BBC stood for Barrowman Broadcasting Corporation.

It has now been renamed Balding Broadcasting Corporation.

oh, and Mariella bleedin Frostyvoice
It is her sparkling wit and coquettish behaviour that makes her so endearing especially to the chaps. Oh and she can ride a bike too..
Well, I like Claire Balding. I can't find anything about her to dislike. I'd rather her any day of the week over Ann Robinson, Davina McMe me me, Claudia Winkleman and a few others.
When I found myself balding I took to wearing a flat cap.
Sorry, didn't read the text of the question. ^
She's a token
Is Clare Balding? How Clement was Freud? Has Dickie got the Bird? Etc.
She is very good at her job, humorous, intelligent, and can keep Willie Carson in his place!

I disagree totally.

Whatever Ms Balding's pluses and minuses as a presenter, neither she nor the tv channels she works for are remotely to be accused of grandstanding her orientation.

If only the same could be said of Norton, Carr, Winton et al.
I am very lucky. I have one of those new fangled TV sets that have an off switch. !

Because for the type of broadcasting Ms Balding is employed to do - capability and knowledge are what matters - looks and 'personality' do not - although I would suggest that just because any presenter's personality is not on show does not equate with the presenter not having one.

That said, we are all given what we are given in terms of our looks - not all of us are sprayed with evolution's cologne - that's just the way it is.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with her looks. She looks like an average woman to me.
She does when she has her hair done ummmm, before that she's always had a boyish hairstyle but then that's expected considering she bats for the ladies

And today's Award for utterly facile and inaccurate stereotyping goes to ....
Clare B is our new national treasure.

One cannot speak unkindly of C-Baldy. It is forbidden.
