What a joke the pub selling business is. Surely Steve would have at least checked out the company online?

Who writes this ***?
The wheelie bins storyline is rubbish!
they went on about it too much for it not to have a point...... Kev nearly lifted the lid on it!
Kevin's bin was full to capacity and he was trying to put excess rubbish in Julie's but she stopped him, where did Kevin get all that rubbish from maybe it was baby Jack's nappies although we never see him, Julie's bin not full but was it hers our Dev's if so it should have been full, all rubbish to me!
Also thought that the jumble sale storyline was rubbish especially playing blow football and doing jigsaw in the pub.

I agree with all your comments, ridiculous storylines tonight, as if you could sign over half of your pub without making further investigations.
The Rovers is supposedly a tenancy, and if new owners were going to take over, they would have to have an interview, and be selected just like you do for a job.
£4 for a pair of bookends at a bring and buy sale? Were they gold plated or something?
It all seemed very calm and civilized.

Not many Jumbles around here any more but when there was they were a free for all bundle with people pushing and shoving and elbowing to get to the best stuff.
The Rovers isn't a tenancy. Jack and Vera bought it from Newton & Ridley in the late 1990s. The pub is currently owned jointly by Steve who owns 50% with Liz owning the rest.

hc,
It is a tenancy, as all their beer etc comes from Newton Ridley, and they wouldn't get visits from the Area Manager of the brewery if it was a free house.

You can have a joint tenancy
It's a long time since Newton & Ridley was mention in the pub, or the area manager.

"Newton and Ridley put The Rovers Return up for sale. Possible owners were the Duckworths and Jim (Charles Dawson) and Liz McDonald (Beverley Callard). Liz had run The Queens Pub in 1993 for the company. Though they had lived through financial hardship for much of their lives, Jack came into a large inheritance gained from the death of Jack's brother Cliff and sister-in-law Elsie in a car crash. Combined with the money made from selling No. 9, Jack and Vera had the cash ahead of the McDonalds and were allowed to buy The Rovers Return. "
