Is back in Corrie (albeit name only).

Personally quite disgusted with the powers that be at Corrie still using this term. Tantamount to bullying and insulting overweight people IMO.

It's what people say in common parlance, though....
One of those people often mentioned but who never appears, like Arthur Daley's 'er indoors and captain Mainwaring's wife. Any others spring to mind?

Oh, and Sheridan in Keeping Up Appearances.
What's another word for fat?

No excuse for a supposedly PC broadcaster....they'd soon complain if you said bent Sean.
adipose
As far as I'm aware, Fat Brenda has never appeared in an episode, but is referred to quite regularly.
Steatopygous is a nice word.
I like 'portly'.
Bonny's nice as well.

Especially as there is a current storyline about Faye being bullied for being 'fat'.
fair do's Talbot. I can't be bothered to argue with you.
Well don't then.
Don't forget:

Snotty Sally
Slapper Liz
Nosey Norris
Pious Emily

Thank you Talbot. My point was indeed being missed!
Boxtops makes a valid point; people do sometimes talk like that, especially when distinguishing between persons who share the same name, White Dee and Black Dee spring to mind.

Many years ago we had three members of my club all called Bill.

One was a bank manager. another was a pharmacist and the third was a solicitor. They were known respectively as:

Bill the till
Bill the pill
Bill the will
Let's blame the Germans, they called a gun Big Bertha!
It might be just a play on words and when (if) we eventually see Brenda, she's as thin as a rake.
I remember when Ken worked very briefly in the taxi office and remonstrated with Steve and Lloyd about calling her 'Fat Brenda'.

Wasn't Pat Butcher often called 'Fat Pat' in Eastenders?
