I thought you had to have a gold skin to be one ?
No
Overlooked because they are black ... racist

Overlooked because the other candidates were better ... NOT racist

INCLUDED because they were black, to make up the quota, even though the other candidates were better ... patronising to blacks, and therefore racist
"for just the second time since the turn of the Century, every nominee in the Academy’s four acting categories is white"

I don't follow the Oscars but it doesn't seem so.

Is someone wanting a token black man nominated?
It seems bizarre to imply that this is a racist selection when the article itself notes that this is only the second time since 2000 that an all-white shortlist for the acting categories. That does imply a certain amount of natural variation, which is what true equality is all about.
theyd be moaning if theres wasnt a black leg in a three legged race....
same ole same ole....to say its getting boring would be an understatement

maybe they werent overlooked, maybe they werent as good as the competitiors...oh no how can that possibly be !?

Heres an idea lets give em a few oscars and see if that keeps them quiet...."oh no theyre all gold, theres no black ones ! "....you cant win

The Director of last years Oscar winning Best Film would suggest otherwise, as would the actress who won the award for Best In A Supporting Role in that very film.
Load of rubbish!
I understand that Timothy Spall has been ignored for his wonderful portrayal of Turner, and he is most certainly white ! I'm not sure that racism plays a part in the selection process for the Oscars at all.
not racist, innexplicable perhaps. Load of arty farty luvvies giving each other gongs for their pet projects. A lot of really good stuff gets ignored.
