"And for those of you who watched the last programme (Fanny and Johnny Craddock), I hope all your doughnuts turn out like Fanny's."
(David Coleman at the start of Match of the Day)

Apparently the figment of a fertile mind according to:

It is true, though where David Coleman comes into it I have no idea. It was said by Johnny Craddock at the end of one of their cookery programmes.

Although this web site attributes it to Frank Bough  http://www.bbc.co.uk/shropshire/features/2003/08/frank_bough.shtml

"After a cookery demonstration by Fanny Craddock and Johnny, her helper and husband, where they showed us how to make doughnuts, the camera cut back to Frank for the link to the next item.

After thanking the couple he cheerily announced: "...and I hope that all your doughnuts turn out like Fanny's..."
