Why do they make us think that Strictly is live on the Sunday night when we know full well it is not and that we know who has been eliminated before the show by searching the internet . I was out to dinner with the family yesterday and they would not believe me that it is all done on the Saturday .Probably didn't manage to convince them fully till they watched it and found out I was right for the dance off and Alison going out .
Why cant they just be honest and say it is Sunday . Not all people know the results just nosey people like me .

Yes I have seen the same audience members in the same clothes sat behind the judges on the Sunday show as on the Saturday show, so a bit of a giveaway! I agree that they should give up on trying to pretend that the results show has been filmed on Sunday. Most people have realised by now it is all done on a Saturday so they should come clean and admit it is a pre recorded...

I didn't think it was a secret.
It's the impression they want to achieve I guess. More "exciting" (I use the term loosely) if folk think "it's happening before their very eyes".

ummmm they refer to it as if it was live Sunday viewing . Some people like I said actually thought it was live on the Sunday .
I used to think it was 'live' on the Sunday until I found out it wasn't. They just want to stretch it out over two nights. I'm nosey too.
it's not a secret. They refer to the saturday show and the sunday show, which is true
Do they claim the Sunday show is live?
No, they never "say" it is live...but imply it is by their use of certain phrases..
Many years ago I went to see a recording of a quiz show called "The Chair". We went in the afternoon for the recording but the host (John McEnroe) kept saying "Good Evening". What a con.

Next you are going to tell me that those Christmas Specials we watch around that time are not recorded then either...

Only playing BTW.
when do they say the phones have closed ?

So long as they make it certain you cant vote on a sunday and the polls have closed - altho I have always wondered about - if you ring the number you may be charged and your vote wont count.

// "why cant they be honest [on teevee] ? // - yeah good one !
That's it Stoofur....it would be really weird for viewers on Sunday to have the presenters refer to Saturday.

Last year I went to the celebrity Christmas recording of The Chase. We had to dress up in Santa hats and everything was Christmas related. It was in October so felt a bit weird.

Got some strange looks on the train going home till my friend pointed out I was still wearing my Text Santa hat. LOL.
The phone lines closed at 8.25 on Saturday, no mention of voting on the Sunday show and no phones numbers ever given.the show on Saturday is always mentioned as 'live' but the intro on Sunday doesn't mention the word live. It stands to sense that they are not going to get the audience, dancers etc etc back for the Sunday show. They must record the guest singer and the pro dancers bit during the day on the Saturday otherwise the pro dancers would not have time to change their clothes. Then after the votes are counted they just record the dance off. If you are lucky enough to be in the audience you are there virtually all day and apparently they give you snacks and drinks etc

They don't claim it is live, in my opinion they don't pretend it is live. They call it the 'Sunday' show because it is broadcast on Sunday.
Darcy, Tess and Zoe or Claudia always change clothes in the interval.
Here in France they have "Dancing With The Stars" which is their equivalent of Strictly. The main difference is that the live programme and the results are all on Saturday so there isn't any silly nonsense about Saturday/Sunday shows. Why can't the BBC do the same to avoid confusion?
Because it would go on for too long...
they could shorten it by cutting out the dancing...

prepares to leg it in the direction of the ISS
Ditto what hc says at 12:51, and does it really matter anyway !!
