Mini Series Title help

Thinking about what else the new character in Corrie (Phil reflexologist) had been in, remembered a school based mini series with Lenny Henry as headmaster, recent couple of years I think, anyone know the name of this?

Don't watch Corrie so I have no idea who Phil is, but the series with Lenny as a headmaster was called Hope and Glory - believe it or not, it was in 1999 - how time flies!

He was also in a programme about a Mountain Rescue team - but I can't remember what it was called.

The actor is Clive Russell. He played Phil Jakes in Hope and Glory (which ran to 2 series before Lenny had a heart attack) and also appeared in Happiness with Paul Whitehouse et al.

Wasnt he in that series about an oil rig?  Can't remember what it was called, but he usually has long hair, beard etc, scruffy looking.

in answer to Gaynorvj's reply, the series about the oilrig that he was in was Roughnecks. Ashley thingybob, the girl who plays Maggie alongside Ricky Gervais, was also in it.
