Turned on my Humax freesat box today and found it had shuffled around a few of the BBC channels

102 was BBC2 now BBC2 HD
109 was BBC2HD now BBC 2

Similarly the BBC3 and BBC4 along with their HD channels had swapped too.

This is awkward as - and this is apparently normal for this box - digital channel volume is controlled on the box remote while digital channels volume is controlled by the TV remote.

Your Humax box has done exactly what it's meant to do. The changes have been made by Freesat in order to "enhance the channels' viewing experience" (whatever that's meant to mean!): http://www.freesat.co.uk/about-freesat/whats-new

My Freeview takes it upon itself to change my choice of recordings from 5 to 5* or 5+1. BBC1 South becomes BBC1 Southeast. Definitely have to be sober to remember which remote does what
Mine resets or downloads when new channels are released. I do a complete new reset to return to my regular settings.

On my box it is not possible to change the order of channels manually. Logically it should be all the freeview HD channels 1 - 5 at the top. Presumably they have done it remotely.

I realise the box is only doing what it is made to do but it does seem odd that they are swapping these channels around with no real pattern.

They cannot swap BBC1 over because they cannot do the regional news (18:30 - 19:00) as yet. So why not wait for all the channels to be available before doing that

Then again it would need ITV And Ch4 to be swapped with there HD channels too I suppose.
