does anyone watch it,
i do sometimes and always amazed when some take the minus offer.
seeing as how the other contestants may have banked quite a bit of money,
i know that it's shared out if they win.

I always hope minus pickers get knocked out. Some people are too thick to be on that.

Sometimes they are encouraged to. The more people in the final chase the better.
Bet they're seething inside though !

perhaps, but if i won 30k and one took a minus 5k that wouldn't make me happy, i know its sometime strategic, but some have good cash builders and still go for the low figure,
Not if they get plenty of questions right in the final chase.
Question Author
perhaps, but they just cost the rest of the team a bigger share.
But they might not have won anything.
Question Author
i wouldn't go on it and take the lower offer if got through,
There you go. They wouldn't have got that many without him...
Question Author
i would rather lose then take the lesser offer.
Fair enough...but the other two would have probably lost out too.
Question Author
not necessarily, though it's generally better with four players,

some of the answers are hilarious.
I am always annoyed when people take the minus offer. It's a bit of a cheat, as they are hoping to profit from the better players. I always hope they lose in their own round.
Have you ever noticed, that it's nearly always the last player that gets offered the minus offer ??
2 people could have similar cash builders (say they both get £4k for example), player 1 could poss get offered £1k, but player 4 would prob get offered a minus amount.
2 points to bear in mind:
Firstly, that extra player has already gained them an extra point in the final chase
and secondly, if that 1 player gets a few questions correct, that no one else knew .... and they win by a small margin ..... it could be the difference between winning and losing ..... hindsight is a wonderful thing :)
Question Author
its true that they can help win the contest, but i wouldn't take the lower offer, after all as some have said you are only there once, why not take the chance. I like it when someone takes the 40 grand or whatever, and win.
not often, but its fun to watch.
Question Author
i prefer to lose than be thought a funk.
Would it not pay folk to act thick and get a huge offer to move one step closer the Chaser?
Question Author
i have often wondered that, though you can come totally unstuck, the Chasers are pretty knowledgeable, and it could be some absolute piece of trivia, and fall at the first hurdle.
