BBC iPlayer television programmes are only available to users to download or stream (Click to Play) in the UK. However, there is a demand for an international version. BBC Worldwide has recently launched the BBC iPlayer App for iPad and iPhone in various countries.

Most radio programmes are available outside the UK in addition to podcasts, although sporting and other programmes may be subject to rights agreements.

Some do subsequently become available via youTube after a period of time.
No, nor are radio programmes, which used to be available through the Listen Again service, before it was "improved" to iplayer. I recall listening to the Archers Omnibus in Arizona a few years ago.

OK. Thank you all.
Just out of curiosity, how does a programme find its way onto U tube?
There is a way. My friend in Canada watches programmes on iPlayer. She does it by subscribing to some site which fools the provider into thinking that she is in the UK
The Corporation posts them there themselves, sandyRoe:

My daughter lives in OZ and she can watch BBC 1,2,3,4,ITV CH4 and 5, her husband is a bit of a PC wiz.
I've tried to watch BBC iPlayer on my computer in the Irish Republic. It insisted on installing an iTunes application first and still doesn't work. So I have a massive aerial pointing to Northern Ireland instead and record on a Freeview+HD box.
