Watched this tonight and thought it was very good. Investigative journalism at its best.

I'd forgotton it was on tonight, it sounded very mysterious and looked like a stage setting when it happened.

Worth watching on catch up askyourgran. All very factual. Very interesting interviews with the brother who was arrested and then released.
Question Author
The brother is 100% involved. Imho
I also watched it.

The theory about the French cyclist being the actual target and the family being shot for being accidental witnesses doesn't really wash if the murderer was rendered unrecogniseable by wearing motorcycle gear, don't you think?

The back-story to the cyclist is fascinating and enough to throw an interesting level of doubt over the whole case. What are the odds of the accidental witness/extra victim being inveigled with both a nuke plant and a rich family who didn't like his relationship with their daughter? Totally wierd!

That thing about the stream helpfully masking the sound of gunfire - suggests the perpetrator had a great deal of local knowledge... but could, equally just be down to luck. A local would also be aware of the English cyclist riding the track on a regular basis, you'd have thought.

Plenty of food for thought. Where's me deerstalker?

There is so much went on as you say hypo. If it was fiction you would say it was way too complex. I wondered how the father had amassed so much money and property!

My attention was divided between the TV and the computer during the bit about the father and the money, so I have no real curiosity about where all the money came from or what the family's background is. I'll just take it for granted that the father was already rich before he settled here.

Immigration control made easy: "Six figure bank balance, sir? That'll do nicely. Welcome to England" :-D
(5 figure bank balance means you're just a tourist...)
Dont worry the the Sûreté's , Chief Inspector Jacques Clouseau (formerly Inspector) has been called on, so have no fear the case will be sol-ved
