Mr Q & I have just caught up with this great new series, a six parter around the time Montalbano first became an Inspector. Very easy on the eye - infact much easier than the old Montalbano!!! Saturday BBC4.

It was good to see how he got his house etc. he has just met Fazio Jnr who he works with in the main series. They have also used some history in this series. I didn't realise there were books!

I've just read The Age of Doubt, it was quite funny and i enjoyed it.
We were trying to work out the chronology, the original series started in the late nineties I think and as this started in about 1990, so he's about 10 years younger, he also looks taller!
Loving watching it though, we went to Sicily earlier in the year based on seeing this, a lot of people we met were doing the same, even from Australia! Great fun saying, We had lunch there, etc. where she gets on and off the bus in Ragusa/Vigata.
Episode 1 eventually downloaded, took 38 hours!

I've never watched Montalbano ( I know-me bad ),but I quite enjoyed my first Young Montalbano on Saturday night.
...and I agree * very* easy on the eye.
OH watched it, he's a Montalbano fan and thought it was good. Personally, I can't get on with subtitles so I didn't see more than the first few minutes.

boxtops, we're ok with the subtitles as such - its just the names, being unfamiliar, that means extra concentration. worth it though.
