This one was taken from Spanish or French TV, with real (dubbed) actors, possibly set during the Napoleonic period or the 18th century. It was set amongst the defenders or the beseiging army of a massive city-fortress I can remember the shots of the cannon-balls smashing into the city walls. The theme music was very catchy: a thundering beat, a man on a galloping horse, and a tune with the words "You've got to fight for what you want / for all that you believe" - or something like that.

Is that the one they did a very funny spoof of in the saturday morning prog called On The Waterfront? Every episode a character would always comment on the houses having no doors. Or am I completely off the mark? If I am does anyone know what the spoof was based on?

"Hi there, I'm the incredibly handsome Flashing Blade."

"You can flash all you like, you're still a nasty common little man."

Yup, that was the one! Written by Russell T Davies.

Oh my God! That's unbelievable. Spooky thing is, On The Waterfront popped into my head yesterday and now I know why. They used to do a spoof of A Question of Sport and the guy who took off Ian Botham (not Andrew Castle?) looked the spit of him. Oh happy days.
