Hi there film buffs; in order to relieve my son's revision boredom, are there any movies true to the actual history of The Cold War, Mao Tse Chung and China and also Vietnam war that he could watch

The Battle of Algiers is a brilliant film which deals with the rising against the French in Algeria.
It's not quite in the area you mentioned but well worth watching.
