Absolutely , Definitely , yes
Would confidential details be revealed to the shareholders of any Public company?

I think not
i don't really understand what difference it would make knowing the sum involved
I don't see why; it's private t her. All the same, in the interests of transparency at the BBC, an annual total of such payouts mightn't be a bad idea (though I doubt there will be many).

And for what purpose?

So everyone who's chipped in their £145.50 can decide if they think the award was just or not?

Well that obviously wouldn't be possible without also hearing all the evidence.

And that clearly isn't practical or desirable.
no idea, but if the atmosphere was that bad why did she work there so long.
No.
Em...people come and go. I'm sure the same staff are not the ones that started 11 years ago!
em

that's not logical

nowhere does it say the abuse lasted throughout the 11 years

the significance of the 11 years is that the abuse brought to an end a significant amount of time invested
No.

Voluntary finnancial contribution to a company does not entitle anyone to know about its internal staff disputes, or their resolutions.

I would not be too impressed if I received a payout from my employer - BT - and the information was accessible to anyone who wanted it simply because they choose to rent a telephone line.
why shoud we?
We can afford it, or at least the BBC seem to think so!
// ..Voluntary finnancial contribution..//

lol - i suppose technically , it is
perhaps like the article states where other women presenters were concerned it was ageism, though she is only 43. She threatened to sue, so the BBC settled instead, does it make a difference whether we know or not, they have paid out which means the taxpayer picking up the bill
em10 - mo, the licence payer picks up the bill - a TV licence is a voluntary payment, taxes are not, an important diffference.
No
i have no choice to pay, i don't care what they call it, i still have to pay if i want to watch the telly, time for the BBC licence to go
you only get out of paying if you don't have a tv or are over a certain age, 75?
