Do these people REALLY go on national TV rather than just seeing their GP ?

It baffles me as well. Perhaps they get offered alot of money.
B*ggers, I thought the post was about me.
Good point though.
I assume it's because they know they are going to get the best possible treatment that they either wouldn't get through the NHS or would have to wait yonks for.

Depending on what it was, it could be worth it.
Yee, I think that too EvianBaby x Totally agree
I remember a bloke on there once who had a constantly smelly bum. The solution turned out to be that he just needed to wipe his bum better and more often.
Now that is embarassing.
..exactly. I hope he was well compensated for having that diagnosis revealed on national telly instead of his GPs surgery.
I've also seen people who have been to their Docs but got nowhere.

I remember one little girl a few years ago who suffered from extreme varucas (sp), it was awful. They overtook her entire feet and looked so painful. She'd been to her doctors seversal times but nothing had worked. EB sent her to have some tests and discovered she had a potentially very serious condition (blood I think) and the varucas were a symptom. They were then able to treat the condition and it's symptoms improved vastly. I cried watching that poor little girl who was suffering so much but just tried to not moan about it.
I can't imagine I should want to go on TV and broadcast that problem to the nation, if I had it!
If I was at the end of my tewther and undiagnosed then possibly, but a smelly Yabbie???

Sorry, but not even for a very large sum of money.
And being at the end of your tewther is very painful indeed.
And lets not forget the woman who was addicted to giving herself coffee enemas every day. And washing the tube in her dishwasher with all her food dishes. Bleuugghhh!!!
That's more mental illness than embarassment.

As well as being bogging.
Ha ha ha!
I'd forgotten about the coffee-enema woman, Evian. Couldn't drink coffee for days after seeing that!

Love Embarrassing Bodies. One of those telly programmes you watch with your jaw on the ground.

Does make me feel I can tell my GP anything!
I bet nobody goes to her house for drinks anymore! I might have to find it on youtube for a laugh (after I've had lunch).
...............and coffee.
the coffee woman was scary

but some of them i've seen, they have been suffering for years and this is the only way they have managed to get treated effectivly. - the guy with the open abcess in his backside, he's put up with that for a few years!
