No. But it's deeply immoral. The fact that you're asking such a question makes you look very peculiar indeed.
In fact, when this question is taken into consideration with your earlier question, you begin to look very unpleasant indeed.

I would suggest that whatever you have discovered on your 'new' hard drive, you do not act upon it. I think that you should follow Mark's advice and format it and forget you ever saw it.

Hi birdie1971, thanks for answering my questions. The reason i am asking this question is that me and my friend are thinking of starting a private investigation company so am trying to find out the legality of certain activities this might involve.
If your answer is serious, my advice would be to take a course on basic criminal law. And format the hard drive.
You can call yourself what you like what you can't do is fake official documents to support the other identity so it would be really difficult to make it credible
We all use a form of 'Alias' on here , as far as I know on one on AB uses their real name.
yes of couurrsse... a detective agency ... obvious really! - and you think AB is the correct way to work out the legalities of this?
if so you are clearly not qualified to be a PD anyway

so this is all just 'research' ... the reason given by most people when caught out ... and nothing whatsoever to do with finding a load of private documents for another person...

if and when this person discovers his name is being used by another person for fraud etc - and calls the police ...what do you think he is going to reply when the police ask him if there is any way others could have got the information?
at some point he is going to say he sold a HD - and give your name.

unless you bought it in a charity shop and were therefore untraceable - you WILL be traced...
