Surely the point is to make us like the Police more and chuckle along with their tales of crim catching, when really it makes it clear that they haven't got a couple of brain cells to rub together between the lot of them.

I haven't seen tonights yet but in all the rest of the series I thought they came across as normal people trying to do a very hard job. Dealing with some of the morons they do must be difficult.

I agree with shoota & jan. I think the programme shows them as being humourous and good blokes, trying to deal with the dregs of our society. I'm glad to say I still respect the police and the very difficult job they're trying to do.

No I don't think it makes them look like thickos. Just normal people who have been trained to deal with the dregs of society. It's a shame they have to spend so much of that time taking care of idiots who get to drunk to know they're being a.holes.
