I am a great admirer of David Jason, but whyever did he decide to appear in such a dire series as The Royal Bodyguard? It is a blemish on such a great actors career.

I was thinking the same thing, OH enjoyed it though :-/
I will delete it then - thought it might touch and go with it anyway!
Loved him in Only Fools and Horses and Frost. For that reason I decided against watching this latest offering. Preview clips didn't bode well.
i didn't watch it, but I thought the trailer shown earlier he looked a bit desperate, and sadly he's looking a bit old too.
It showed him in such a bad light, worst thing he has ever done, please tell me that isnt his real hair ??
He was on the One Show and it was suggested that he is like Inspector Clouseau. I'm afraid I didn't fancy it at all. Can't do with 'silly' things like that. Peter Sellars was a different type of performer.
Should have been on at 4o'clock on Children's TV. Absolute garbage.
he was rubbish in the christmas trailer too.
I don't think it is a series tho', just a one off (hopefully!) rosy

its a six part series
Towards the last episodes of Frost he looked too old to be a policeman. I'd guess royal bodyguards would be about half his age.
If there was ever a remake of Only fools he might play Grandad.
couldn't agree more
Everyone over 70 in a lead role on TV has black hair .. didn't you know?!

It was funny in a Pink Panther sort of way tho. Love it or hate it : )
It`s in 6 parts.

its nothing to do with his age....he is still a fine actor and there are many more things he can and may do....it is just the very poor writing and conception of this programme that i find bad...the whole thing is diabolicle and should never have reached our screens.
Actors have to call it a day at some stage. The actor who played Dixon of Dock Green went on til he was 80. That was probably a bit too long.
Oops sorry about that, mickrog and carlton, I thought I'd read that they thought it would lead to a series - pity I wasn't right tho'.it was dire, rosy
Unfortunately .. the 'action' shots he seems to be doing in this series will probably kill him.
Started to watch it---gave up---not good!
seemed to be a cross between Johnny English and Mr Tumble ... dire!
